Sarah Hardy raced in the 59th Eddie Soens Memorial race yesterday. It was fast and furious. Olivia Fawcett raced the Lancaster University Cycling Club: Spring Series #2 on the Salt Ayre circuit yesterday. The race was on from the start and the girls raced aggressively. Olivia managed to get away with 2 other girls for almost a lap before it was brought back together. Another girl then managed to get away and stay away with 3 laps to go, so it came down to a bunch sprint for Olivia. She dug in and was 3rd in the sprint, placing her 4th overall. Rachael Brown gets 1st lady at her first 25 mile TT race 🥇 Today Rach competed in her first 25 mile TT race and it didn’t come without its issues. There was a change to the original course due to roadworks, her chain dropped on the first climb and the wind on the tops battered her sideways but she got her chain back on and powered through the wind to complete the course in a time of 1:14:04 which was 14 seconds ahead of the ladies 2nd finisher. Given last minute notice, the ladies race at Pimbo was pushed back 2 hours which meant a double warm up and more food needed, so at 2:30pm Olivia lined up for the second time. Another ‘classic’ about Pimbo is that the ladies race usually comes down to a bunch sprint and this time it was no different.
